This week I'm offering a variety of collectibles, including trading cards as well as comics. In the late Sixties, early fanzines published by comic dealers and collectors established the comic collecting community as we now know it. A Canadian comics dealer named George Henderson started a modest monthly fanzine called Captain George's Comic World for its first 28 issues, then merely as Captain George Presents when his focus broadened. Printed on plain newsprint stock and featuring a very low print run (about 500 copies), this fanzine reprinted early comic strips and comic books, as well as the works of magazine illustrators and related matter. Entire Golden Age comic books were reprinted, portfolios of popular artists such as Alex Raymond and Frank Frazetta, plus a bit of everything else made up the issues.
