Massimiliano Frezzato: Pinocchio - Findings Ex Libris Signed, 2013, 100 Ex

£99.49

???? In this soft and bright scene, Frezzato offers us one of the most moving moments of his cycle dedicated to Pinocchio: that of the reunion. Two figures shake hands in front of a garden gate, in a peaceful, golden light. One is young, with a red beard and a roller under his arm, the other older, with white hair and a kind look. The atmosphere evokes appeasement, transmission, the tenderness of bonds finally renewed. A rare scene, imbued with humanity. Massimiliano Frezzato (1967–2024) was an Italian designer and illustrator with an inimitable style, at the crossroads of wonder and emotion. Recognized for his work on The Guardians of the Maser, he also delivered with Pinocchio a series of bookplates of great narrative richness, at once tender, ironic and poetic.
