The Sixties and the Seventies were the golden age of monster movie fandom. Famous Monsters was the best known magazine to address this area of interest, but it had its competitors. The Monster Times was a tabloid newspaper, published every two weeks initially, that ran from 1972 to 1977. It featured articles on monster related movies, TV shows, actors, comics and anything remotely related to monsters. It took a slightly snarky tone with much of its covereage but rarely tipped over to being campy. Each issue ran 32 pages and was printed on regular newsprint quality paper. The centerfold generally featured a large poster printed on slightly better quality paper. As a time capsule for that period, it featured views of Marvel Comics' Tomb of Dracula and Conan the Barbarian, Star Trek and similar subjects.
